Attorney-at-Law
I am an Attorney-at-Law, a member of the Kraków Bar Association (entry number: 2508). Since 2008, I have been cooperating with the Kubas Kos Gałkowski Law Firm. In my practice, I focus on business law, in particular company law and capital market law, which are the main areas of my professional expertise.
I advise clients on M&A transactions, corporate reorganizations, business structure design, and financing investments. I possess extensive experience in corporate disputes — both in-court and out-of-court. I provide legal assistance to multinational corporations, foreign investors, companies listed on the stock exchange, family businesses, and companies established through privatization. I advise management boards as well as majority and minority shareholders. I am also experienced in litigation pertaining financial instruments and intellectual property. Moreover, I am engaged in constitutional law. I represent my clients in Polish and foreign courts. My working languages are Polish, English, and German.
Additionally, I engage in public interest activities as Pro bono lawyer, as well as in developing legal policy and legislation, both on national and international levels, as a member of working groups and expert teams (such as Informal Company Law Expert Group with the European Commission, Expert Group on simple joint-stock companies with the Minister of Development, Expert Group on Economic Law with the Minister of Development, Minister of Economy ’s Expert Group on ADR). My involvement has been noted, among others, by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, which included me on the list of the 50 most influential lawyers in Poland twice, in 2013 and in 2015 ranked 24th and 40th, respectively).
Some of my cases met with interest from the media due to their financial significance, precedent nature, or socio-political importance.
• Hostile takeover: CA Immo vs Immofinanz — precedent battle for the takeover of a company dual listed on both Polish and Austrian stock exchanges, with the first Pac-Man defense in the history of Austrian market. I represented CA Immo as lead counsel on the Polish market. More here.
• Dispute on the slogan promoting the Winter Olympic Games in Kraków — a high-profile case regarding the manner of conducting the referendum campaign related to Kraków’s application to host the Winter Olympic Games in 2022. I represented the applicant, Tomasz Leśniak, the leader of Kraków Przeciw Igrzyskom citizens’ movement, who demanded the correction of the slogan “because the Olympics are a remedy for smog”. I represented the applicant , before Krakow Regional Court, before the Court of Appeals and before the Constitutional Tribunal of Poland – all on a pro bono basis. Details here.
I share my experience and knowledge in scholarly publications and press articles, as well as during conferences and legal seminars.
